Woodland Wednesdays
Woodland Wednesdays
FoSW invite you to join their mid-week volunteer group to help manage Spud Wood. The group meets most Wednesdays – hence the name.
Woodland Wednesday group activities will include, coppicing, hedge laying, tree felling. mowing and other maintenance tasks the Woodland Trust might ask us to undertake.
We plan for the activities to be held weekly from 10am to 2pm on Wednesdays – volunteers can join in for as long as they want.
No previous experience required! Training will be provided.
We have most equipment needed, but may ask you to bring along the following if you have them: Bow saw, pruning saw, secateurs and loppers. You will need to wear stout boots (wellies or walking boots will do) and working gloves to protect your feet and hands. And if you’re planning to stay for the whole session bring a packed lunch and a drink.
Power tools are not covered by our insurance, so please leave at home.
The Woodland Trust requires all volunteers to register with them before participating in any activities – this is for insurance purposes.
If you are interested in joining us on Woodland Wednesdays and want to register or ask a question please contact Nick at hello@spudwood.org.uk or phone 07714 104509.
